The meeting opened at 2.00 pm.
1. Decisions on taking business in private: The Committee agreed to take agenda item 4 in private.
2. Subordinate Legislation: The Committee considered the following negative instrument—
The Transport and Works (Scotland) (Consequential and Transitional Provisions) Order 2007 (SSI 2007/517).
The Committee agreed to make no recommendation in relation to this instrument.
3. Inquiry into Ferry Services in Scotland: The Committee considered proposals for external meetings and Reporter visits in relation to its inquiry. The Committee agreed to hold two external meetings in March 2008 in Oban and in April 2008 in Shetland and agreed to hold a series of Reporter visits to Lewis, Mallaig, Dunoon and Arran in early 2008. The Committee further agreed that an approach be made to the Conveners Group and the Parliamentary Bureau to obtain the necessary approvals to hold the external meetings.
The Committee moved into private at 2.04 pm
4. Budget Process 2008-09 (in private): The Committee considered its draft report on the Budget Process 2008-09. The Committee agreed to circulate an amended draft report for agreement by correspondence.
The meeting closed at 3.00 pm.
