Apologies were received from Patricia Ferguson.

The meeting opened at 10.30 am.

1. Declaration of interests: John Wilson MSP declared a relevant interest as an elected member of a local authority.

2. Choice of Deputy Convener: The Committee chose Alasdair Allan as the new Deputy Convener.

3. Decision on taking business in private: The Committee agreed to take items 6 and 7 in private.

4. Subordinate legislation: The Committee considered the following negative instruments—

the Local Government Pension Scheme (Administration) (Scotland) Regulations 2008 (SSI 2008/228)

the Local Government Pension Scheme (Transitional Provisions) (Scotland) Regulations 2008 (SSI 2008/229)

the Local Government Pension Scheme (Benefits, Membership and Contributions) (Scotland) Regulations 2008 (SSI 2008/230)

The Committee agreed it had nothing to report on any of the instruments.

5. Disabled Persons' Parking Places (Scotland) Bill: The Committee took evidence on the Bill at Stage 1 from—

Mr Euan Page, Parliamentary and Government Affairs Manager, Equality and Human Rights Commission Scotland.

6. Disabled Persons' Parking Places (Scotland) Bill (in private): The Committee considered the written evidence received and agreed witnesses for its scrutiny of the Bill at Stage 1.

7. Child poverty inquiry (in private): The Committee considered written evidence received and agreed witnesses.

The meeting closed at 11.55 am.
