Background
At the conclusion of its inquiry into the effective use of police resources, the Committee agreed that it wished to inquire further into community policing. At its meeting on 11 March 2008, the Committee agreed the terms and remit of this inquiry.
Remit of inquiry
The remit of the inquiry is:
To review the purpose and effectiveness of community policing in Scotland including consideration of the definition of community policing and the resources currently available for community policing.
