Disability Inquiry - A Review of Progress

The Committee agreed, at its meeting on 11 September 2007, to monitor the Scottish Government's implementation of the recommendations in the session 2 Committee's disability inquiry report Removing Barriers and Creating Opportunities.

The Committee took evidence from the Minister for Communities and Sport on 18 December 2007, from the Cabinet Secretary for Education and Lifelong Learning on 26 February 2008 and from the Cabinet Secretary for Finance and Sustainable Growth on 11 March 2008. The Committee also wrote to relevant organisations asking how they intended to implement the recommendations that apply to their work.

The Committee published the report of its Review of Progress on 17 June 2008. The written submissions received are available on the Disability Inquiry - Review of Progress page.

The Scottish Government's response to the Review of Progress, was received on 12 September 2008.
