Evidence session on UK Equalities Bill

The Committee is taking evidence from Vera Baird QC MP, Solicitor General, on the UK Equality Bill and its implications for Scotland, at its meeting on Tuesday 2 December 2008.  The Bill, which is expected to be introduced to the UK Parliament shortly, aims to “strengthen protection, advance equality and declutter the law”.

The Committee, in recognising the widespread interest in the Bill, was keen to give key stakeholders an opportunity to submit any questions they would like the Committee to pose to the Solictor General.  The deadline for submission of questions on the UK Equality Bill has passed.
