Work programme

 

At its meeting on 17 September 2008, the Committee agreed its work programme to June 2009.

Bills

 

The Committee was designated as lead committee on the Education (Additional Support for Learning) (Scotland) Bill on Tuesday 6 October 2008.

The Committee issued a call for written evidence to seek views on the general principles of the Bill from all interested individuals and organisations. The deadline for responses is 12 noon on Thursday 20 November 2008.

Budget process 2009-10 (Stage 2)

 

The Committee is currently scrutinising the Scottish Government's budget process for 2009-10.  Please follow the link below for information on the Committee's consideration of the budget relevanty to their remit.

The Committee holds focused evidence taking sessions on key aspects of its remit. This supports its scrutiny of the Scottish Government’s actions and plans as its programme develops.

Subordinate legislation

The Committee is currently considering the following item of subordinate legislation:

As part of its scrutiny of the instrument, the Committee invited every local authority in Scotland, along with COSLA, to submit written evidence on the draft Order.

 

The Committee will also take oral evidence on the draft Order at the following meetings:

  • Wednesday 29 October 2008 - Ipsos MORI Scotland
  • Wednesday 5 November 2008 - Children's charities
  • Wednesday 12 November 2008 - up to 4 local authorities
  • Wednesday 19 Novemeber 2008 - Adam Ingram MSP, Minister for Children and Early Years
