Communities Committee seeks views on the Planning etc. (Scotland) Bill

The Communities Committee has today launched a call for evidence from all interested parties on the general principles of the Planning etc. (Scotland) Bill which was introduced to the Scottish Parliament on 19 December 2005 .

This Bill aims to modernise the planning system to make it more efficient and give local people better opportunities to influence the decisions that affect them.

The Committee is seeking written evidence on the general principles of the Bill, including:

  • General comments on the objectives of the Bill
  • The National Planning Framework
  • Development Plans
  • Development Management
  • Enforcement
  • Tree Preservation Orders
  • Correction of Errors
  • Assessment of Planning Authority's Performance or Decision Making
  • Financial Provisions
  • Business Improvement Districts
  • Miscellaneous and General Provisions
  • Other issues related to the Bill.
