EUROPEAN COMMITTEE SEEKS VIEWS ON THE APPLICATION PROCEDURES FOR STRUCTURAL FUNDS

As part of its forthcoming annual review of the implementation of European Structural Funds in Scotland, the Scottish Parliament's European Committee is seeking views on the application process and procedures for the current round of project applications.

During the summer of 2000, ideas for projects were invited as part of the Highlands and Islands Objective 1 Transition Programme and the Objective 3 Programme. Future calls for projects under Objective 2 will be launched soon.

The Committee wants to hear views on both the global process involved and the fine detail of your experience, for example:

1. Was there sufficient publicity concerning the possibility of such funds?

2. Did you get enough material on how the application procedure worked? 3. How did you find the process of applying for the Funds?

4. Did you encounter and problems? If so, what were they and what might have been done to prevent or improve the situation?

5. What might be done to improve the whole situation for future application rounds?

If you are interested in sending the Committee your thoughts, then please do so in one of the following ways:

By email, to: stephen.imrie@scottish.parliament.uk

By post to:

Stephen Imrie
Clerk to the European Committee
Room 3.11, Committee Chambers
