PARLIAMENT TO HOST HIGHLAND CRAFT EXHIBITION
5 December 2007
The public will have an opportunity to see the work of some of the most respected and talented Highland craft makers in an exhibition, which opens at the Parliament tomorrow (Thursday 6 December).
The free exhibition entitled ‘Cridhe na Gaidhealtachd – Craft in the Highlands’ will run until Sunday 6 January and showcase highland crafts that have been developed as part of the programme to celebrate Highland 2007, the year Scotland celebrates Highland culture.
The exhibition will display a range of crafts, which make use of traditional techniques and materials in innovative ways to produce items that express Highland culture today.
Scottish Parliament Presiding Officer Alex Fergusson MSP said:
“The Parliament is proud to host this important exhibition, which celebrates the culture of the Highlands and the talent of its craft makers.”
Cridhe na Gaidhealtachd – Craft in the Highlands has been organised by the Highlands Council, Highland 2007 and the Scottish Parliament.
