Professor Howard Gardner |
One of the world's leading thinkers is to give a seminar at the Scottish Parliament as a guest of Scotland's Futures Forum on Thursday 7 September.
Professor Howard Gardner of Harvard University will give a presentation based on his "Good Work" project in an event jointly organised with learndirect scotland and Tapestry.
The project was founded by Professor Gardner in the mid-1990s along with other renowned academics, Mihaly Csiksentmihalyi and William Damon.
"Good work" is described by Howard as work that is high quality and is socially responsible. In other words, the project explores the relationship between excellence and ethics.
Presiding Officer George Reid will introduce the Professor's session at Holyrood.
He said:
"Much of Howard Gardner's work is highly relevant to the thinking promoted by Scotland's Future Forum and to the future of Scotland as a whole.
"I am confident that this presentation will be of great interest to all who are concerned about the future of work, education or society as a whole."
