SCOTTISH PARLIAMENT AND SCOTTISH EXECUTIVE LAUNCH SECOND ‘BUSINESS IN THE PARLIAMENT’ CONFERENCE

The Scottish Parliament and Executive have agreed to co-sponsor a second ‘Business in the parliament’ event in September next year.

The conference will be held in the new Parliament building, and 300 business men and women will be invited to debate business issues with MSPs in the Chamber and the Parliament’s committee rooms.

The event follows on from an initial conference held in April this year in the Parliament’s interim accommodation which was well received by those who took part.

The conference will last over a full day and include a debate in the Chamber, and a ‘question time’ when business Ministers will be questioned by business people. The Executive will report back on issues raised at the first event, and there will be a series of workshops in the committee rooms.

As last time, MSPs will be asked to invite business men and women from their own areas to give a good spread of businesses from across the country.
