Item 2 - Current Petitions: The Committee will further consider a number of current petitions including—
PE709 Inquiry into the health aspects of Gulf War Syndrome. The Committee will consider possible forms of action.

Item 3 - Proposed Petitions: The Committee will consider the admissibility of a number of proposed petitions including—Proposed petition by Mr Stuart Usher, Co-ordinator, Scotland Against Crooked Lawyers, calling for the disbandment of the Justice 1 Committee and the creation of a new committee.

Item 3 - Alternatives to custody: Further to its decision on 10 December 2003 to agree a proposal for a comparative review of alternatives to custody, the Committee will consider an interim report on the review.

Members of the public are welcome to attend meetings of the Parliament and formal committee meetings. Over 400 seats are available to the public in the Assembly Hall, the vast majority on a first come basis. A limited number can be booked in advance by calling the Parliament's visitor centre on 0131 348 5000. Space is much more limited for committee meetings, which usually take place within the Parliamentary complex, but again, public seating is available, but MUST be booked in advance.
