'MSP BUILDING TO BE CLAD IN GRANITE' CLAIM - HOLYROOD TEAM RESPONDS
Lewis Macdonald MSP, Convener of the Holyrood Progress Group, has issued the following statement in response to recent claims that the contract for granite cladding at the new Parliament building had been awarded. Speaking today, Mr Macdonald said: "Contrary to press reports, no contract has yet been awarded for the supply of granite required to clad the MSP block in the new Parliament building complex "Negotiations are currently in progress to establish whether interested quarries are able to supply the quality and quantity of granite required within the necessary timescale. We anticipate that a public announcement will be made following a decision within the next few weeks. "We are certainly hopeful that a Scottish quarry will be able to rise to what are challenging timetable and cost targets." |
