Exhibition on women's suffrage opens at Holyrood

An exhibition on the women's suffrage movement in Scotland can be seen at Holyrood until March 2007. Presiding Officer George Reid MSP is pictured viewing the display in the Parliament's main hall.

Visitors to the Parliament can also view a newly installed permanent artwork celebrating women's contribution to furthering democracy. Artist Shauna McMullan, is pictured with the work, Travelling the Distance.

Travelling the Distance, was commissioned by the Scottish Executive and features 100 handwritten sentences in porcelain from women around Scotland, on their female role models.
