26 June 2006 : The Public Petitions Committee heard from Jean Gall, Colin Tyler and Dr Renata Riha and agreed to seek views on the petition from the Sleep Apnoea Trust, Lothian Sleep Centre, National Services Division of NHSScotland, the Public Health Institute for Scotland and the Scottish Executive and to seek the views of the petitioner on these responses once they have been received.

2 October 2007 : The Public Petitions Committee agreed to seek a further response to this petition from the Scottish Government and, in particular, on its plans to update SIGN 73 on the Management of obstructive sleep apnoea/hypopnoea syndrome in adults and on OSA funding. The Committee also agreed to seek a response from the Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network on its plans to update SIGN 73. Link to Official Report - 2 October 2007
18 December 2007 : The Committee agreed to seek a further response from the Scottish Government on any new funding that will be allocated to NHS Boards following the recent strategic spending review specifically for sleep apnoea and what plans it has to raise public awareness of the condition. 18 March 2008 : The Committee agreed to write to the Scottish Government and the Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network seeking a more specific timetable for the review of Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network 73 on the Management of obstructive sleep apnoea/hypopnoea syndrome in adults. 23 September 2008 : The Committee agreed to suspend further consideration of the petition until the Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network working group has commenced its review of the SIGN guideline 73 on the Management of obstructive sleep apnoea/hypopnoea syndrome in adults and to then seek an update on the likely timetable for that. It also agreed to write to the Scottish Government inviting it to seek information from across NHS Boards on what funding they will be providing for sleep apnoea sufferers and services in the future and what action they are taking at a local level to identify issues and raise awareness of this.Link to Official Report 23 September 2008
