27 May 2008 :   The Committee agreed to seek responses to the issues raised in the petition from the Scottish Government. Link to Official Report 27 May 2008 

18 November 2008 :   The Committee agreed to close the petition on the grounds that the petitioner and the Minister for Children and Early Years recently met to discuss the issues raised in the petition; the Scottish Government is currently conducting a study to better understand child contact cases in Scottish Courts and the report of this is due to be published in 2009, has commissioned research into the volume and nature of child contact cases in Scotland and is providing £1.786m funding for national family support bodies and 13 local family mediation services; and to inform future policy development, the Justice Analytical Services has been working with stakeholders, including the petitioner, to seek views on their experiences of family law services.
