29 January 2008 :   The Committee agreed to seek responses to the issues raised in the petition from the Scottish Government, Dumfries and Galloway Council (including Dumfries and Galloway Childcare Partnership), COSLA, Association of the Directors of Education in Scotland, Association of the Directors of Social Work in Scotland, Scottish Out of School Care Network, Scottish Pre-school Play Association and Big Lottery Fund (Scotland). 13 May 2008 :   The Committee agreed to write to the Scottish Government seeking a further response, once its early years strategy has been published, on what its childcare strategy is, how that will be taken forward and how it will address the specific concerns of the petitioner. It also agreed to invite the Scottish Government to make representations to the UK Government on issues surrounding the tax credit system and what assistance this might offer the petitioner.
