20 November 2007 :   The Committee agreed to seek responses to the issues raised in the petition from the Scottish Government. Link to Official Report 20 November 2007 

19 February 2008 :   The Committee agreed to write to the Scottish Government seeking a further response on the outcomes from its work with the Department of Work and Pensions and HM Revenue and Customs of the tax and benefits situation for kinship carers and on what role the reference group established will play in this matter. It also agreed to defer further consideration of the petition until the early years strategy is announced and for the Scottish Government to then respond on what recognition the strategy will give to kinship carers.
