6 November 2007 :   The Committee agreed to seek responses to the petition from the Scottish Government, the Association of Directors of Education, Child Poverty Action Group, Scotland's Commissioner for Children and Young People, COSLA, Dumfries and Galloway Council, Dundee City Council, Highland Council, and West Lothian Council. 19 February 2008 :   The Committee agreed to write to the Scottish Government on how and when it will be taking forward consideration of realigning educational maintenance allowance means testing with the new arrangements for further and higher education means testing and, should it take forward consultation on this matter, that it might wish to consider inviting student representatives to take part in any working group or the preparation of the consultation document. 10 June 2008 :   The Committee agreed to write to the Scottish Government asking it to respond, once the review of the EMA has taken place, on how the issues raised in the petition have been taken account, what the timescale will be for implementing the review’s findings and what reassurance will be given that changes will be notified to parents and young people.
