Petition by Councillor Frank Docherty, on behalf of the East Centre and Calton Local Community Planning Partnership and the Board of John Wheatley College, calling for the Scottish Parliament to take steps to enable John Wheatley College to be able to comply fully with the “Charities Test” established under the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005.

19 February 2008 :   The Committee agreed to write to the Scottish Government seeking a response on how it will be taking its consultation on this matter forward, on precisely what will it consult, with whom and whether colleges will be retained on the register until the outcomes of the consultation are known.
