26 June 2007 : The Public Petitions Committee agreed to link consideration of petitions PE1037 and PE1042 and refer them to the Health and Sport Committee for consideration as part of any post-legislative scrutiny of the Smoking, Health and Social Care (Scotland) Act 2005. 12 September 2007 : The Health and Sport Committee agreed to link petitions PE1037 and PE1042 and consider the issues they raise when undertaking any post-legislative scrutiny on the Act. The Committee agreed to write to the petitioners advising them of this; and, to make them aware if the Committee choose to undertake such scrutiny. 1 October 2008 : The Health and Sport Committee agreed the following action: PE1037 by David Nelson, on the provision of designated smoking areas in pubs and clubs, and PE1042 by Belinda Cunnison, on smoking in public places and indoor air pollution, to close the petitions on the grounds that the issues raised will be taken into account during any post-legislative scrutiny of the Smoking, Health and Social Care (Scotland) Act 2005.
