18 September 2007 : The Public Petitions Committee heard from Leslie Trotter and John Waddell and agreed to seek views on the petition from the Scottish Government, COSLA, Sportscotland, Fields in Trust and Edinburgh City Council. Link to Official Report – 18 September 2007
18 December 2007 : The Committee agreed to group consideration of these petitions with PE990 and to seek responses to the issues raised in the petitions from the Scottish Government on what specific action it is taking to address the specific issues raised in each petition and to set out its strategy and timetable for a programme to provide funding to improve sporting and leisure facilities. The Committee also agreed to consider whether these petitions might be referred to the Health and Sport Committee for further consideration as part of its pathways into sport inquiry and, in the meantime, to forward a copy of the petitions to that Committee.
