17 January 2007 :   The Public Petitions Committee agreed to seek views on the petition from English Heritage, Historic Scotland, Scottish Natural Heritage, VisitScotland, the National Trust for Scotland, COSLA and the Scottish Executive and to seek the views of the petitioner on the responses received. 18 March 2008 :   The Committee agreed to write to the Scottish Government inviting it to establish a working group of interested parties, including the petitioner, to take forward consideration of whether a scheme, as proposed in the petition, might be feasible, how it might be funded and controlled and to then report back to the Committee.
