13 December 2006 :   The Public Petitions Committee agreed to link consideration of petition PE1007 with PE908 and PE909. The Committee also agreed to submit the petitions to Jackie Baillie MSP for inclusion in the public consultation on the draft proposal for a Disabled Persons Parking (Scotland) Bill and to write to the Scottish Executive regarding its current review of the Blue Badge Scheme and to seek clarification of issues surrounding the obstruction of dropped kerbs. 2 October 2007 :   The Public Petitions Committee agreed to seek an update from the Scottish Government on its review of enforcement measures to tackle the abuse of parking bays and how this is being taken forward and from COSLA and the Scottish Government on how consistency across local authorities in relation to disabled parking provision can be achieved. 15 January 2008 :   The Committee agreed to write to COSLA and the Scottish Government seeking an update following their recent meeting. Link to Official Report 15 January 2008 

15 April 2008 :   The Committee agreed to write to the Scottish Government on what practical steps it is taking to improve the availability of, and access to, disabled parking spaces for authorised users only in the light of its recent meeting with COSLA. It also agreed to write to Jackie Baillie MSP to ascertain the current position of her proposed Disabled Parking (Scotland) Members Bill. Link to Official Report 15 April 2008 

7 October 2008 :   The Committee agreed to close consideration of petition PE908 on the grounds that the Disabled Persons’ Parking Places (Scotland) Bill will cover the issues raised in that petition. In relation to petitions PE909 and PE1007, the Committee agreed to write to the Scottish Government seeking a response to the specific points raised during the meeting.
