Family support services inquiry

The Committee has agreed to appoint Mary Mulligan MSP as reporter on an inquiry into the provision of family support services in Scotland. The Committee’s scrutiny of the Family Law (Scotland) Bill raised the issue of family support services, which the Committee has agreed merits further work, now that the Bill has been passed by the Scottish Parliament. 

 
Rights of Relatives to Damages (Mesothelioma) (Scotland) Bill

The Bill seeks to amend the Damages (Scotland) Act 1976 concerning the right of certain relatives of a deceased person to claim damages in respect of the death of the deceased from mesothelioma.
