1. School Closures: The Committee considered a response from the Executive on school closures and rationalisations. The Committee agreed to send a further letter to the Minister and agreed to suggest that a successor Committee should monitor progress.
2. Reporters' Inquiries: The Committee considered an interim report on youth development and supporters’ participation within the decision-making process in Scottish football from Karen Gillon and it was agreed to suggest that a successor Committee should monitor developments on supporters’ participation and to receive a presentation and take evidence on the PMP Consultancy’s Independent Review into Youth Football. The Committee also considered a paper on early years education from Ian Jenkins and agreed to suggest that a successor Committee should conduct an inquiry into the issue. The Committee also considered a report on the Scottish traditional arts from Cathy Peattie and agreed to distribute the report.
3. Sport 21: The Convener reported on the launch of Sport 21 2003-2007: The National Strategy for Sport.
