Flooding report
A sign warning of floodingA twenty-five year national, strategic ‘road-map’ for investment in flood management should be established by the Scottish Government says a parliamentary report published by the Rural Affairs and Environment Committee. The committee also calls for the Scottish Environment Protection Agency to take the lead at a national level in flood risk management.

The Articles of Union Presiding Officer Alex Fergusson MSP hosted the launch of the “Records of the Parliament of Scotland to 1707” on Thursday evening.

The Records of the Parliaments of Scotland to 1707 is a fully searchable database containing the proceedings of the Scottish Parliament from the first surviving act of 1235 to the union of 1707. It is the culmination of over 10 years work by “The Scottish Parliament Project Team”.

The programme featured Margo MacDonald MSP. Business discussed included the Public Petitions Committee, Christopher Harvie's Members' Business debate on Supermarket Dominance in Scottish Retailing and a busy week of European events at Holyrood.

You can watch the programme every Thursday at 11.45, on the Committee Room 4 Channel of www.holyrood.tv. The programme takes a look at what's been happening in Parliament and features MSP guests. Austria Ambassador visit
Presiding Officer Alex Fergusson MSP The Austrian Ambassador, Dr Gabriele Matzner-Holzer, visited the Scottish Parliament on Thursday. Her Excellency Dr Gabriele Matzner-Holzer paid a courtesy call on the Presiding Officer Alex Fergusson before observing First Minister’s Question Time.

World Press Photo to be exhibited in the Parliament

The latest edition of Guidance on Public Bills is available online. The guidance explains the rules and practices applying to all public bills - including Members' and committee bills - from pre-introduction all the way to enactment. The guidance will be of interest to anyone who wants to know more about how the Scottish Parliament makes laws.
